Lead a Volunteer Orientation Meeting

OVERVIEW
If you direct the children's ministry at your church, you know the importance of having positive, energetic, and skilled volunteers. You may be able to recruit willing people who have a heart for children, but how do you equip them for the job? If your volunteers don't know what to expect or don't understand the vision, mission, and values of your children's ministry, they may get discouraged and fall by the wayside. An orientation meeting for new or prospective volunteers is a great way to inform and equip them for ministry.

This tool is adapted from "Got Volunteers?," a Promiseland Conference workshop by Jim Braniff. Promiseland is a ministry of the Willow Creek Association.
